An evolving list of some of the places I go for food inspiration…

Blogs and Websites

Vegan Heartland A plethora of vegan desserts, plus how to make brown rice and can salsa. What more could you want?

The Kind Life Famous actress turned vegan lifestyle guru. Lots of good recipes and lifestyle tidbits.

Post Punk Kitchen Isa Chandra Moskowitz. If you know who she is, you probably love her. If you don’t know who she is, you should!

No Meat Athlete I’m a no-meat athlete in my dreams. In real life, I’m a no-meat working mom who squeezes in a run, ride or workout whenever I can. But I still feel like this blog speaks to me. Plus there are some great recipes here and t-shirts with running carrots on them.

Plant Strong Vegan Lots of inspiring recipes and photography.

Plant Based on a Budget My grocery bills keep me up at night. I need all the help I can get and this is a great place for delicious, easy, and budget-friendly ideas.

High Infatuation Steph Davis is a rock climber, base jumper, author and adventurer who also happens to be vegan. I’m a rock climber in my dreams—kind of like I’m a no meat athlete in my dreams. But I really do manage to climb a little. Occasionally. Steph Davis is an author worth reading and definitely an inspiration. And I’ve found some good recipes here.

The Veg Life A great site with a variety of recipes, mostly easy-to-find ingredients, and beautiful photos.

Crazy Sexy Diet by Kris Carr. A primer on why to choose a plant-based diet. And you will feel like Kris Carr is your new best friend and biggest cheerleader. And Kris’s story will probably make you one of her biggest cheerleaders too.

Isa Does It by Isa Chandra Moskowitz. All you have to do is look at these artful pages and beautiful photographs and you’ll love it. But if you read the recipes you’ll like the author, and if you try the recipes you’ll be hooked!

The Green Smoothie Bible by Kristine Miles. Took my green smoothie obsession to a new level. Who knew you could put cilantro, mint, and basil in smoothies, and that they would taste great! Lots of ideas for using green smoothies to feel healthy and energized.

Vegetarian Times It’s been around for a lot of years and every issue is full of great ideas and great photography. Vegetarian, but includes plenty of vegan recipes. And I find lots of non-vegan recipes that can be easily veganized by using soy or nut cheese, non-dairy milks, and egg replacer. I love it in print and online.

VegNews When I discovered that there was actually a whole magazine that was entirely vegan, I was ecstatic. Lots of great recipes, plus lifestyle and environment stories.
